One of our goals on the RFWP is to #UntwistNarratives that keep women from being able to step into their God given callings and narratives that make them feel less than.
When Emily saw this statement by John MacArthur, she knew she needed to do some digging into the context of Isaiah 3:12 because this verse has been weaponized to say that if women lead, it's a curse from God. Lois looked up commentaries and together they worked through this verse in context.
Because this is a common thing women, we knew this was an important conversation to have on air as well. While we appreciate the impact the preaching and exposition John MacArthur has had on the Church, we all need to remember to keep the main thing the main thing and not bring our politics into how we are reading scripture.
Let us know in the comments if you agree or disagree with our take on this. Look forward to hearing from you!
